Filmmaker. Foodie. Fun-seeker. That’s Harshman.

Concert junkie. Cinephile. Fantasy fiction fan. Well, that’s Harshman.

PNWer, avid hiker & wanna be biker? That’s also Harshman.

Bad puns. Warm hugs. Girl dad. That’s very Harshman, too.

Senior Editor. Post Producer. 1st AD. Now: that’s Harshman PRO.

What started as a cringey joke about my last name is now my ethos: to show up to everything I do as my whole self. To work with me is to get all that’s Harshman plus process-driven, creative collaboration from a professional at the top of his craft. Why don’t we make something dope together?

Cut & splice.

The principles of video editing are really quite simple: you insert, trim and transition.

Yet, as a Senior Editor, I view my role more as a master of relationships; between voice & image, script & screen or a brand & consumer.

And I want to keep building those relationships, with you.

Plan, Prepare & Execute

Video shoots are a complex puzzle of overcoming practical and logistical hurdles in the pursuit of creative execution.

I have ADed 100s of sets & managed post production teams that generated 1000s of videos; always on time & always on budget.

Whatever your creative goals my unique combination of organizational skills & industry knowledge will empower your production.

Since my career began I’ve almost always split my efforts evenly between production and post. At small companies—or a giant corporation on a specialized team—it’s often a requirement to have aptitude at multiple disciplines to make the work the best it can be.

Likewise, I view my various disciplines as interlocking. As an editor I understand story, pacing and composition but also the importance of organization and structure. Working as an AD requires creative collaboration via excellent communication, planning and execution. When you combine those two with someone who knows how to identify talent & create an inclusive team culture, you get a Post Producer who can guide others to deliver world class output.

Add in a sprinkle of battle tested process efficiencies, a good sense of humor and two decades of industry experience and that’s Harshman.

This BTD for Nike required shuffling a real-life family of 5 between 4 locations in just 1 day.

Some shoots might require a complex traffic and safety plan for closing down a pedestrian bridge. Others may need someone to watch 12 soccer players scrimmage and know when there’s enough footage to cut together to serve the existing story edit. And, on rare occasion, the job may require you to pay the ultimate price and entertain an adorable baby for a spell while his mom goes through touchups in hair and makeup.

That’s Harshman can also mean using a lot of words to say that I have immense experience helping productions of all sizes deliver on time, on budget and to exacting standards!

Should you need an AD for a short commercial shoot you’ll also get the expertise I have in post on your set.

If it’s a complex post project with 100s of deliverables for a product launch: I can hire, organize, track and manage your project workflow, too, largely because of the combination of abilities gathered by my experience as and editor and AD.

I wear a lot of hats, literally and figuratively, and you can learn more in the testimonials on my contact page!
